FAQs
Can I do a single session?
While it’s possible you will find full resolution within one hypnotherapy session, in order to increase long term probability of success, I require a minimum of 3 sessions building on each other to increase confidence and help with trouble spots.
For coaching, a single session simply doesn’t accomplish the same level of transformation as a series of sessions, so for this reason I don’t offer this option. I offer a 9 week and 12 week series for new clients and I always encourage a phone consultation. If I don’t think I can help your particular situation, I will share this with you.
I would like to purchase a package as a gift for someone else. Is this possible?
If you’ve witnessed the power of coaching, I understand why you’d want to share it as a gift! However, coaching and hypnotherapy are very personal commitments that should be thoughtfully considered by the individual seeking it. My services often require that clients implement changes to their habits and routine. I’ve found personally and professionally, that when you make your own financial investment, then you are setting yourself up for the best success in following through on the changes you wish to make. For this reason, I do not accept new clients on a gifted basis.
I’m a nurse and I want to start my own business. Do you offer mentorship, consulting, or business coaching?
Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Send me an email to inquire further.
If I know you from the past or am a friend. Can we work together?
Yes! In a coaching container, we will likely touch on subjects that you may not often talk about with others. If this would make you uncomfortable, perhaps you would prefer working with someone else who doesn’t know you. If you choose to work with me, I assure you that any information shared with me, I keep private. At NO time, either directly or indirectly will I ever share it with anyone else.
Hypnosis-Specific FAQs
When I’m under hypnosis, will I lose control?
No, you are never under the control of the hypnotherapist. All hypnosis is guided ‘self-hypnosis’ or guided daydreaming. I’m just the tour guide trained to guide you on your journey.
What does hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind that you’ve experienced many times in your life. You’ve entered this state before when you’ve become lost in a really good movie or book or when you were daydreaming and missed an exit on the freeway. It’s a hyper-imaginative, focused, yet very relaxed brain state.
How does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis helps your subconscious mind carry out the choices you want to make with your conscious mind. Hypnosis bypasses the critical factor of the mind (the part of your mind that holds judgements, ingrained habits, and self-limiting beliefs). Bypassing this part of your mind allows for new ideas and beliefs to be accepted and therefore acted upon.
During hypnosis, will I reveal secrets I’ll later regret?
No, in hypnosis you still have control over what you say and don’t say. You won’t say or do anything that you wouldn’t normally and it would be impossible to make you reveal anything that you wouldn’t otherwise share.
What if I’m religious - is hypnosis in opposition to the church?
The church’s stance is that hypnosis can be used for therapeutic purposes by a professional, but should never be used for recreation or entertainment. I happen to be a Christian who believes God gave us this incredibly powerful healing tool and I practice it with utmost integrity and care.
